Dolomiten Hotel Restaurant Wiedenhofer Terenten
Those who have seen these imposing mountains before, describe them as “the most beautiful mountains in the world”.
The Dolomites developed 200 million years ago from the primordial ocean. Today, they reach over 3,000 metres high into the sky. The special composition of the rocks was defined by Déodat de Dolomieu (1750 – 1801). He gave the mountains their name. Now, this mountain massif has been proposed as a candidate for the UNESCO World Natural Heritage to the UNESCO. Scenery for winter sports could not be any more impressive.
The highest mountain in the Dolomites is the Marmolada at 3,342 metres above sea level. Other renowned massifs are the Three Peaks in the Sesto Dolomites, the Sella, Cattinaccio, the Geisler Mountain Group and the Sassolungo.
You can drive around the Dolomites in just one day. You can choose between the short or long Dolomites round tour.
