OUR FAMILY
Welcome to Terento, our village in the heart of the Italian Alps
Our Roots in 1777
What started as a simple farm amidst the Dolomites would one day become our beloved Hotel Wiedenhofer. For generations, this land has been our family’s home, where we’ve grown alongside the mountains that surround us.
The vision
Long before Hotel Wiedenhofer became what it is today, this place was a simple farm – deeply rooted in the landscape and the rhythm of mountain life.
It was here that the vision of the earlier generations began to take shape. With an open mind and a natural sense of hospitality, they started to welcome travelers into their home – long before tourism as we know it today existed.
In those early days, guests were even picked up in the next village by horse and carriage, as there was no road leading here yet. What may seem like a small detail today reflects something much greater: a genuine commitment to making people feel welcome, no matter the effort.
Over time, the farm slowly evolved into a place of encounter – shaped not by grand concepts, but by a way of life rooted in authenticity, simplicity, and connection.
This spirit still defines the house today: grounded in its origins, and always open to those who arrive.
BUILDING TRADITION
For many years, my grandparents Emma and Josef shaped what Hotel Wiedenhofer is today – with dedication, warmth, and a deep sense of genuine hospitality.
They created more than just a place to stay. They built a home where guests were welcomed like family, where conversations flowed easily, and where a true South Tyrolean spirit could be felt in every detail.
This atmosphere still lives on throughout the house – in the way we welcome our guests, in the small gestures, and in the feeling of being truly at ease.
Their legacy is not something fixed in the past, but something we continue to carry forward – with care, authenticity, and a love for what we do.
A new Chapter
My name is Lucy – granddaughter of Emma and Josef, whose heart and dedication have shaped this house.
In winter 2024, I took over Hotel Wiedenhofer with the wish to create a place that brings people together: a warm, familiar atmosphere defined by genuine hospitality and authentic South Tyrolean charm.
The history of this house is both my inspiration and foundation. It lives on in many small details while leaving space for new ideas to grow. Together with my family and a trusted team, we are creating a place where tradition and the present meet in a natural and effortless way.
What matters most to me is how our guests feel from the very first moment: truly welcome. That simple moments turn into meaningful memories – honest, relaxed, and shaped by sincere hospitality.
A place to arrive, to breathe, and to return to again and again.
I look forward to sharing this special place with you.
